Is a passport and visa required for Turkey?

When choosing a holiday abroad, we should check what documents are required. Which raises the question – is a passport and visa required for Turkey?  And it’s perfectly right question. In recent years we got used to unhampered border crossing. All we need  is an ID card and we can go almost anywhere in Europe. However, ID card is not always enough and we should be aware  of that. Especially while planning another exotic holidays in some nice and warm place.

 Is a passport required for Turkey?

To be allowed to the territory of Turkey we must have a passport. Some people think that it’s enough to have a holiday booking confirmation issued by the travel agency where we bought the holiday. It is not. A passport is necessary to cross the Turkish border. And nobody will turn a blind eye to its lack. It is worth remembering that the expiry date of the passport is also very important. Official regulations say that it must be valid for at least 180 days from the date of entry to Turkey. It is worth checkıng our passport and its expiry date before we go on holiday.

Is a visa required for Turkey?

The answer to this question is yes. To be able to reach your dream hotel, swim in the warm sea, visit wonderful and gorgeous monuments, go crazy until the morning in various disco clubs, go on an optional trip to Cappadocia we must have a visa. Otherwise we will not cross the border. However, there is no reason to worry. We can easily get a visa online  or upon arrival directly at the airport. And everyone will buy it without any problems. There are even special visas selling vending machines.

The best solution is to buy a visa online. You can do it using the official website www.evisa.gov.tr/pl/, which is of course available in our language. In this case the cost of a visa is 20 USD. When buying a visa at the airport we will pay 20 pounds, 25 euros or 30 dollars, depending on which currency you choose.

How long is visa to Turkey visa valid?

When buying a visa, we can spend in Turkey 90 days within 180 days. So, during these 180 days, we can cross the border several times to, for example, use the optional tours of various travel agencies. If we plan to spend two weeks in Turkey in May and two weeks in September we need one visa. We do not have to buy it again for the second stay.
