Which suitcase to buy when going on vacation?

Choosing a vacation suitcase is, despite appearances, a very important matter. The bigger the suitcase the more things we can take with us. This seems obvious, but not everyone thinks about it soon enough. It is worth to start thinking about what we will pack up earlier than just right before our holidays.

When to look for a suitcase?

The best time to look for a suitcase are post-season months. Then you can find suitcases at the best prices. If you are going on a holiday and visiting Turkey in July or August, then you should look for suitcases even in the winter. Then the prices are the most advantageous. And the best place to buy a suitcase is of course the internet. There, you can conveniently check prices in various stores, find promotions and buy a suitcase at the best price.

How big my suitcase should be?

The suitcase should be matched to our individual needs. There are people who, for a monthly stay, will easily pack into a small cabin case. There are also people who need a huge, 120-liter suitcase for a week. Each of us knows best what suitcase to take. A small facilitation may be the fact that in the case of organized holidays or the use of charter flights, the weight limit of luggage is specified. Most often it is 20 kg per passenger. So it is worth looking for a durable and light suitcase.

From my own experience I know that a suitcase with dimensions:

• height: 65 – 70 cm,
• depth (shorter side): 28-30 cm,
• width (longer side): 45 – 50 cm,

allows you to take the necessary things for two weeks of vacation for one person and loaded will weigh less than 20 kg. Such a suitcase size should be the best in most cases.

What should the suitcase be made off?

Suitcases are made of various materials. There are soft, material suitcases. They are also hard, made of plastic. If you want to only carry clothes, a soft suitcase will be ok. But if you want to carry cosmetics, some glass bottles, etc. then it is best to think about hard suitcases. They are made of various types of plastics:

• ABS – the hardest material for suitcases. It is hard and not elastic, it breaks quickly. It is also the heaviest material.
• Polycarbonate – the best material for suitcases. Durable, after impact it deforms, but does not break. It is light.
• Polypropylene – this material is lighter than polycarbonate, but not as durable.

So it’s best to buy polycarbonate cases or blends of these materials. At the same time pay attention to the proportions in which they are used.
